It all started with hair and now ombre can be seen literally EVERYWHERE!! It worked its way through makeup and nails, then cakes (thank you Pinterest), home decor, product packaging, and of course fashion.  There is a great chance you’ll find at least one ombre option in practically everything you can think of – including running shoes.

As our heads spin with neons, brights, and a free-for-all color mania, we heard about dip-dye, monochromatic, dip-dye, and colorblock and now ombre where it’s all about the fade.  I was invited back on Great Day Houston to talk about this prolific trend!

With this, and every trend, take the parts that works for your shape and personal style and leave the rest!

Model #1: Jacqueline
Ombre Hair by Travis Player
Ombre Lips by Almayra Ordaz
Dress: Vince Camuto @ Nordstrom

Model #2: Allyson
Ombre Eyes by Almayra Ordaz
Top: Pleione @ Nordstrom
Pants: Wit and Wisdom @ Nordstrom

A key to incorporating trends into your personal style: moderation!  Here Allyson is rocking the makeup and nails so if she had the outfit too she would like a victim of her environment instead of using the trend to show and complement her personal style.

Model #3: Linda
Top: Black Label Printed Top @ Chicos
Pants: So Slimming Straight Leg Pant @ Chicos

As you see these looks keep in mind the colors need to work for you.  Take advantage of the fade to keep colors that best compliment your skin tone near your face.

Model #4: Lorine
Dress: Sleeveless A-Line by Calvin Klein @ Macys (in store only)

Model #5: Grace
Dress: Sleeveless Sequin Ombre by Nicole Miller @ Nordstrom

The great part about ombre is you can do the trendier – extreme color fades or the more subtle versions for a look that will last in your closet for many seasons.

A Few Fun Accessories:
Bathing Suits: Magicsuit by Miraclesuit @ Swim ‘N Sport
Necklace: Kahlo Mixed Metal Necklace by Stella & Dot

Thank you to Angela’s Cakes for providing the delicious cakes for the segment! If I could live on that fondant icing, I would!

Side Note: If you are in Houston, I recommend joining the Facebook Group I Know Somebody Houston! Within 15 minutes of posting about a cake, I found a vendor (from *many* suggestions) and arranged everything for the segment! It was a HUGE help for me!)
